The Burstead Appoints SGD To Renovate Golf Course

The Burstead Golf Club has appointed Swan Golf Designs to carry out the renovation of their golf course in Essex, UK.

Established in 1993, the parkland layout has matured into one of Essex's best golf courses. However, the club's management has decided that the time is right to make further improvements and has appointed SGD to undertake the renovations.

The first phase of works, designed by Howard Swan and implemented by Profusion Environmental, included the construction of two lakes on the 9th and 18th to add challenge to the home holes as well as create a feature in front of the clubhouse. These are now in play despite having only been built in May, as the new bunkering and reshaped green surrounds continue to grow in.

Improvements to the rest of the course are now being planned in time for construction to begin this winter.
